Why Does my Car need an MOT Test?

Every vehicle in the UK that is 3 years old or older is required by law to have a valid MOT Certificate. This must be renewed every year. If you don’t have a valid MOT certificate this can result in a £1000 Fine.

The items that are checked during an MOT test are set out by the DVSA. These include amongst other items:
